Old Business:
Signage – Joe is looking into getting signs changed. We will get them down to look at them. Once we get them down we will take them to get quotes. Signs we are looking at are the signs at the entrance to the city and signs around the outside of our building.
Articles of incorporation: Aaron recommends that we look into two 501c3 numbers. One for our church and one for the property. This will be inline with the structure we will be looking into. This will allow us to cover both the building and assets of the church. This would protect us from future litigation. It would protect the assets of the church.
Committee Reports:
SPRC – Jack no report
First Light – Candy
It was noted that for the combined service that the choir practice time and band practice time before service conflicted with each other. Worship directors are aware and will adjust accordingly.
Awaken– Jeremiah – no report
Missions – Jay
Served at CALL. Good turn out and served and had a good time. Served about 45 people. Took in about $3500 for the ARK offering. We are still looking to finish the amount.
Connections – Patsy
Grilled Cheese event was excellent with huge turnout. Sending out cards for various purposes. Women’s groups are doing well. Getting ready to send out college and military cards to people from our congregations. Families in first service that have been gone a long time.
Homebound – Angie
Communion is about to be served. Otterbein stuffed eggs for Easter Egg hunt. Things going well
Finances – Aaron
Giving has been slightly down but we are still in the black. $100,000 was donated to the disaffiliation and was deposited in the parsonage fund.
Trustees – Joe Bowman
Report on the signs being changed. That is in progress.
President – Joe Sutton – No report
Pastor – Tim – Nothing other than disaffiliation stuff
Disaffiliation conversation:
Tim’s ordination dependent on being affiliated with a denomination. He has applied and is waiting to be confirmed by the GMC. We will continue to work on a contract with Tim. One of the priorities that we want to stress is informing the congregation of what is happening. We want to contact a representative of the GMC and a pastor from a non-denominational church to come and speak on what life is like for them. This will help us make an informed decision on what life will be like for us after July 1.
Aaron Powell moved to approve up to $2000 to secure an attorney to assist us in setting up Wayne Street as a new legal entity. Second: Jack. Approved.
Jay Shannon moved to have more frequent meetings as we are working on the transition process. Our next meeting will be May 1 6:00. Second: Jack. Approved
Jack asked about giving information to the congregation. A decision was made to create a slide to scroll in announcements. We will also send out BLT minutes along with the weekly email. We will open a line of credit just in case it is needed at the time our disaffiliation payment is to be made.
New Administration Structure:
Brief conversation about expanding the scope and participation in the leadership of Wayne Street. Tim presented a new format, and it was discussed. Some amendments will be made and will be discussed at the next meeting.
Next Meeting: Monday, May 1 at 6:00PM
Motion to adjourn: Aaron. Approved 8:00PM
